I’m talking about a couple of issues in Episode 86 of Boomer Time:
1. Probate. Process, Timeline (how long will it take), and the pitfalls – troubles that lead to delays, changes and reduction of the money that may be available to beneficiaries.
2. Will Contests. I’ll also touch on will contests – who can contest and who can’t and what’s involved. I came across some good questions on this issue and wanted to tackle those.
3. Capacity and Competency. I’ll touch on some capacity issues that relate to someone’s ability to make powers of attorney and other estate planning documents, especially if there has already been a diagnosis – not impossible, but can be ripe for a potential contest.
